Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT ) will run week-long camps in sports and athletics over the summer.
The camps are aimed at young people aged 6-13, with the activities ranging from ball games and sprinting through to arts and crafts. The camps will take place in the state-of-the-art International Arena and will run from June 29 to July 10 (10am-2pm daily ). The cost is €60 per child.
The sports camp takes place from Monday June 29 until Friday July 3 and will include fun activities such as ball games, team sports, individual sports, arts and crafts, and much more.
The athletics camp takes place from Monday July 6 until Friday July 10 and will include sprinting, javelin, hurdles, shot putt, long jump, high jump, walks, relays, and arts and crafts.
Commercial manager at AIT Paul Coburn said: “We’re very excited about these two new summer camps. The International Arena will be a magnificent setting for the camps, and with the best facilities and the best leaders, we are confident that everyone taking part in the AIT sport summer camps will have the best fun.”
Places are limited, so early booking is advised, which can be done online at www.aitsport.ie. Early drop-off (9am ) or late pick-up (3pm ) can be arranged, which costs an additional €10 per child.
