The Westmeath winners of this year’s county final of the Irish Restaurant Awards were announced on Tuesday night, with Athlone establishments bringing home the majority of the county’s accolades.
Thyme Restaurant won Best Restaurant and Best Wine Experience, while head chef and owner John Coffey was awarded Best Chef in Westmeath. Wineport Lodge in Glasson was awarded Best Hotel Restaurant and Best Customer Service, while Kin Khao Thai brought home the award for Best Casual Dining inthe county. Other winners in the RAI Westmeath final included Weirs Bar and Restaurant in Multyfarnham for Best Gastro Pub and Miller & Cook in Mullingar for Best Newcomer.
All county winners now compete for the regional and all-Ireland titles which will be announced at the Irish Restaurant Awards in the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel, Dublin on Monday May 25.
