Regatta launches Athlone Towncentre store this Friday

Leading outdoor clothing brand Regatta officially opens its doors this Friday morning March 27 at 10am, with a series of events planned for the launch. The company is creating 10 jobs with the opening of the new store.

Regatta is unveiling a unique art installation to celebrate the launch of its brand new store. The piece will be created by artist Corina Thornton completely from Regatta garments to celebrate Westmeath’s rich artistic heritage, and when viewed from above will form a unique picture to be revealed on the day. The installation can be viewed outside the new Regatta store on the ground floor of Athlone Towncentre for three days until Sunday March 29. When dismantled all products will be donated to the Westmeath Volunteer Centre for redistribution.

In addition, sporting legend Alan Kerins, winner of two Galway titles in both hurling and Gaelic football, will be special guest at the opening and will be available for photos and to meet with fans at the launch.

Alan went on to establish his own charity in 2006, after a volunteering trip to Africa inspired him to help change. Almost 10 years on, over €1.5 million has been raised on behalf of the Alan Kerins African Projects.

Brian Fox, Regatta country manager for Ireland said: “This is a fun way of celebrating the fact we’ve arrived in Athlone and are creating new jobs. We know it’s a thriving area, with some really exciting things happening which is exactly why we wanted to open our next store in Westmeath.”
