The Heritage Council has announced that €600,000 will be allocated to heritage projects under its 2015 Community-based Heritage Grants Scheme. The grants will aid in the continuing conservation and development of Irish heritage through the support of local community-based groups.
Grant applications must be submitted on the Heritage Council’s online application system before 5pm on Friday March 20.
Speaking about the grants scheme, Heritage Council chief executive, Michael Starrett said “In the year when the Heritage Council celebrates its 20th anniversary, we are delighted to be able to provide support again to communities across the country whose key focus is on the ongoing preservation and development of our local and national heritage projects. The Heritage Council Grants Scheme seeks to support projects that offer real and significant sustainable economic benefits to the Irish economy, through job creation and promotion of local tourism.”
