The Dean Crowe Theatre will open its doors this weekend to the Broadway smash hit musical Hairspray. Winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, Hairspray is a big, bouncy beehive of a musical, piled high with laughter, romance, and deliriously tuneful songs.
The cast of this smash hit musical are busy rehearsing for this feel-good, singing and dancing extravaganza. In the lead role of Tracy Turnblad is Ballinasloe native Jennifer Clogher. Paul Holloway will star as Tracy’s mother Edna Turnblad, Bernard Coyle as Wilbur Turnblad, and Jack Quinn as Link Larkin. Hairspray will also feature Joan Larkin as Velma Von Tussle, Ayomide Adeleye and Shoro Omotosho will share the role of Little Inez, Caoimhe Crowe O’Connor as Penny Pingleton, Lucia Evans as Motormouth Maybelle, Sammy Rosney as Seaweed, Charles Doherty as Corny Collins, and Amy Kelly as Amber Von Tussle.
