AIT announces RAG Week charity partners

AIT Students Union this week announced their charity partners for their annual Raise and Give (RAG ) week. All funds raised during this week will be split evenly between the AIT Student Hardship Fund and Console, the National Suicide Charity.

Speaking at the announcement Students Union deputy president Kevin Ronan said “We are delighted to be supporting two great causes this year and we are looking forward to the challenge of raising as much money for both as possible”.

This month Console will be opening a suicidal crisis and bereavement support centre in Athlone. “It is great to work with the local branch of Console who are putting in great work to provide much needed facilities for the town and the Midlands,” Kevin added.

The week officially starts on Monday February 16 and will run for the entire week with lots of events, live music, and craic, all in the name of charity. The Students Union and their students will also be bag packing on Friday February 13 in Dunnes Stores Irishtown, and are appealing for anyone shopping that day to support their cause.
