The Leisure Club at Hodson Bay has been awarded a White Flag National Quality Award for 2015. The Emerald Standard Award received by the hotel is recognition that the facilities have surpassed the criteria required.
The Leisure Club announced this exciting news of the launch of their annual open day, which will take place this Saturday, January 17. It will offer fun and games plus free access to the 20m pool and fitness class demos.
This is the first time that the Leisure Club has received this award and the staff are thrilled to have their efforts acknowledged.
Speaking at the launch of the open day, manager of the Leisure Club, Ollie Lennon, said: “The staff and management at the Leisure Club are continuously striving to maintain and improve the facilities for our members. It’s fantastic to have received this award and to have the quality of our facilities being nationally recognised.”
The White Flag National Quality Standard, grades facilities’ operational standards, and it is fast becoming the most sought-after accolade in the leisure industry. It is the only industry-specific award for the Irish leisure and spa industry.
The White Flag National Quality Standard is based on the three essential areas when operating any leisure centre or spa: safety, hygiene, and maintenance and customer care. The standard is designed to encourage continuous improvement and it is categorised into three levels for the leisure centre sector: gold, silver, and bronze. During 2014, Ireland Active introduced a new section for the hotel leisure centre sector which has two levels, diamond and emerald.
