Independent TD for Roscommon-South Leitrim, Denis Naughten, has confirmed that complaints made by motorists across the country regarding petrol stretching havw doubled since mid-October.
According to Deputy Naughten the official numbers come from motorists making complaints of petrol stretching to the Revenue Commissioners and the Gardaí.
Deputy Naughten, who raised the issue in the Dáil recently, was informed that since mid-October, Garda reports of petrol stretching have risen from 170 to 308 and the reports to the Revenue Commissioners have risen from 31 to 72.
