Jumping for joy to thank volunteers!

Tomorrow, Friday December 5, is the annual international day to recognise and thank volunteers. With this in mind, the Brothers of Charity Services Roscommon have organised a very special event to highlight the contribution of all their volunteers.

A sponsored jumpathon will be held tomorrow at Cherry House, St Coman’s Park, Roscommon from 1-3.30pm, with the aim of raising money for a volunteer social evening in January to say thank you to their volunteers.

A jumpathon is when everyone comes together to jump - whether it is skipping, hopscotch, or trampoline!

Those with a volunteer in their lives, including those involved in day and residential services, rehabilitative training, early childhood services, school age services, staff, friends, and family will come together to take part in the jumpathon and say a big thank you to their volunteers.

The Brothers of Charity Services Roscommon supports people with an intellectual disability and those on the autism spectrum throughout County Roscommon including many locations in the South Roscommon area of Monksland in Athlone.

Supports provided include rehabilitative training, day and residential services and supported living initiatives. Volunteers are included in every aspect of activities, with activities including anything from weekly walks into town to once or twice a year for specific projects such as Christmas outings or summer camps.
