Specsavers Athlone is to host a Specsavers Superhero Family Fun Day event this weekend to raise money for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin.
Staff will be partaking in a non-uniform day and dressing up in fancy dress this Friday and Saturday. Facepainters will also be on hand to paint all the local children as their favourite superheroes, along with lots of in-store raffles and giveaways throughout the afternoon.
The Athlone team is looking forward to a colourful day at Specsavers at Golden Island Shopping Centre, all in the name of charity.
The fundraising event is part of Specsavers’ commitment to raise €100,000 towards the refurbishment of the ophthalmology unit at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin.
Keith McCallion, director of Specsavers Athlone, said: “We are delighted to have reached the halfway mark in our bid to raise €100,000 for such a great cause like Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin. We have always admired the fantastic work the hospital does for children across Ireland and plan to put all our efforts into reaching the €100,000 goal by hosting our Specsavers Superhero Family Fun days.”
