Raharney claimed the Westmeath Senior Hurling Championship title defeating Castlepollard 2-12 to 1-9 at Cusack Park, Mullingar last Sunday.
Killian and Ciaran Doyle were to the fore throughout for Raharney hitting a combined total of 1-10 for the eventual victors, who dominated the first half.
At the interval Raharney led by 1-7 to 0-3 as Ciaran Doyle’s splendid 25th minute major gave them a significant cushion.
Alan Devine kept Castlepollard in touch after the restart and the experienced Darren McCormack narrowed the gap to three points with an opportunistic goal late on.
But Raharney weren’t going to be denied as Killian Doyle landed a fine score before substitute Brian Connaughton pounced for the decisive goal.
