Gardaí in Ballinasloe are investigating a two-vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the Kilconnell road (R348 ) at Nutfield Cross outside Ballinasloe at approximately 8.35pm last Friday evening, October 10.
A male in his 30s was fatally injured when the car in which he was a passenger collided with a second car. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The female driver was taken to Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe with injuries described as serious. The male and female occupants of the second car were also taken to Portiuncula Hospital with injuries which were described as not life threatening.
The scene of the collision was closed overnight to facilitate an examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.
