Amazing music at The Snug Bar this weekend

The Snug Bar has a stellar line-up for music fans this weekend.

This Thursday October 16 sees Jock and Dave provide the entertainment from 10pm, while on Friday night Take2 take to the floor at 10pm.

This Saturday has something for all tastes, with White Mansion in the bar, while DJ Jamie provides the tunes in the beer garden, with both kicking off at 10pm.

On Sunday evening, popular Athlone band Macey South start their set at 7pm. Macey South is a young energetic three-piece, whose original mix of traditional Irish music and rock ‘n’ roll never fails to get an audience on their feet. The band’s energy is comparable to the Pogues and Horslips whilst drawing influences from a variety of genres. Original songs from their new album such as ‘Casey’ and ‘The Wiseman’ have become extremely popular.

Don’t miss Amazing Apples from 9pm on Sunday. This five-piece multi-instrumentalist folk/rock band from Galway have an Irish/Americana sound combined with high-energy performances. Their profile has risen quickly in the past few months, as word has spread about this musically versatile and talented band with massive charisma and huge live appeal. All the members are multi-instrumentalists incorporating bouzouki, mandolin, keyboard, and fiddle for their live show. The band have supported Mumford and Sons, Damien Dempsey, Walking on Cars, Mundy, The Saw Doctors, and The Stunning. They were also chosen twice as ‘Play Irish’ artists of the month with their song ‘Head in the Clouds’. ‘Slipping By’, released in March, peaked at number one on the iTunes downloads charts.
