Nissan says that it means business as it confirms its re-entry into the competitive and popular hatchback market with its all-new Pulsar.
Nissan believes that the passion it has for innovation and technology has seen it transform the family car landscape over the course of the last seven years. Now, using the same design approach and original thinking that produced Ireland’s best-selling crossover, the Nissan Qashqai, Nissan is expanding its product portfolio once again with the introduction of what it describes as an exciting all-new family hatchback challenger - the Pulsar.
Combining bold design, with claimed technical innovations and class-leading interior space, the Nissan Pulsar should brings further competition to the C-segment. Nissan believes that it now has a model that offers all the familiar Nissan qualities in a stylish new package.
Inside, Nissan says that the Pulsar redefines what buyers can expect in a C-segment family hatchback. Where most rivals put practicality below style and materials, Nissan boasts that the Pulsar delivers on all three counts. Thanks to a long wheelbase (2,700mm ) and clever positioning of the seats, the Pulsar enjoys the best rear legroom in the sector - comfortably eclipsing its rivals and outshining a number of cars in the class above.
A Nissan spokeswoman said that: “As befits a car packed with new technology, the Pulsar launches with two highly advanced engines - a 1.2-litre DIG-T petrol unit and a 1.5-litre dCi diesel. Both offer exceptional performance, economy and refinement, and integrate a host of fuel-saving technologies to help owners go further for less.”
The new Pulsar range features three familiar trim grades: XE, SV, and SVE - with all three offering exceptionally high equipment levels according to Nissan Ireland. All models come with air conditioning, five-inch advanced drive-assist display (ADAD ) and electric windows all round. Tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS ), six airbags, and Stop and Start system are also all fitted as standard across the range.
The long anticipated replacement for the extremely popular Almera will arrive in showrooms here early this month and will retail from €19,995 for the entry grade 1.2 115bhp petrol, and from €21,595 for the entry grade 1.5 110 bhp diesel.
