For the month of January, the Boots Healthy Heart Service is available for an introductory offer of €20 (normal price €40 ).
The Healthy Heart Service at Boots incorporates a number of physiological tests and a lifestyle assessment. The results of these tests are used to estimate your risk of developing cardiovascular disease over the next 10 years.
The tests include blood pressure, waist circumference, and weight and height, which is used to calculate BMI (Body Mass Index ). A finger prick sample of blood is also taken, which allows total cholesterol, HDL (good ) cholesterol, and blood glucose levels to be measured.
The service is done in a private consultation room, on a one-to-one basis with a Boots pharmacist/ pharmacy graduate.
