Judge announced for Best Dressed at Kilbeggan Races

With the largest race meet of the year at Kilbeggan Racecourse tonight, head judge of the event, sponsored by Dundrum Town Centre and Wineport Lodge, has been announced as Marietta Doran.

Marietta is the foremost commentator on fashion at all the glamorous meetings in the horseracing calendar and is well known as the resident fashion presenter on RTÉ Racing and Channel 4 Racing. A seasoned ‘Best Dressed’ judge Marietta knows that comfort and confidence are a winning combination. So, for those hoping to scoop the top prize, Marietta will be looking for an on-trend yet appropriate outfit that both emphasises and compliments your own body shape and showcases your own sense of style.

The Midlands National Day is the feature race at Kilbeggan Races on Friday July 18 with a prize fund of €50,000 and is set to be the biggest meeting at the racecourse to date. Dundrum Town Centre and Wineport Lodge in Glasson are sponsoring the ‘Best Dressed’ at the event and will present the winner with a prize worth in excess of €2,500 that includes a shopping spree at Dundrum Town Centre and a Woman of Style Weekend at Wineport Lodge. The Woman of Style Weekend will include a stay in the Captain’s Suite with champagne dinner, lunch in the Bollinger Lounge followed by a culinary class, powerboat trip to Athlone, tasting menu in the celebrated restaurant, and top to toe pampering.

The Midlands National Day, featuring seven races, will kick off at 4pm with the first race at 5.55pm. Finalists for the Best Dressed will be selected through the event with finalists enjoying a champagne reception at the Dundrum Town Centre/ Wineport Lodge marquee before the winner is announced and presented prior to the Midlands National going to post.

Ladies Day at Kilbeggan Races has become the social event of the year in the Midlands with a full evening of entertainment for all the family including live music, children’s entertainment, as well as the glamour of the Best Dressed and of course the excitement of the racing.

Admission for adults is €12, and for students and OAPs €10. There is a discount for groups, and children under 16 go free. A special family discount package is available for €20 for two a Adults with children under 16.
