Moate Agricultural Show launched this week

Moate Agricultural Show will embark on its 173rd show this August.

The show was officially launched in the Grand Hotel, Moate, on Thursday night (July 17 ). Taking place on Saturday August 23 the show will include a variety of classes for competitors including: livestock, farm produce, flowers, arts and craft, cookery, photography, and a dog show.

Organisers say there are plenty of classes for children to take part in and all children who enter will be in with a chance of winning tickets to Dublin Zoo.

This year they are increasing the emphasis on creating a great family day out. Children that are accompanied by an adult will be admitted free and there will also be free entertainment for children on the day. This will include free pony rides, face painting, slides and obstacle courses, exotic animals, animated characters, dog games, as well as live performances from Dancezone, live music, and much more.

Rohan’s Transport will again be running a complimentary bus from the town to the showgrounds and back.

Moate Show would like to thank all its sponsors for their continued support without whom the show would not be able to continue.
