A lucky County Westmeath couple got summer off to a flying start as they collected a cheque for €500,000 at National Lottery offices last weekend. “We’re delighted! We plan to clear the mortgage and the bills and use the rest to put the kids through college,” said the wife.
“I wouldn’t be one for holidays, but the wife is!” said the husband.
The happy couple won the prize in the Daily Million Plus draw on Friday May 23. They bought their lucky Quick Pick ticket in PJ Farrell’s in Abbeylara, County Longford.
