Great weekend ahead in The Snug Bar

With the summer weather starting to heat up and the World Cup action in full swing The Snug Bar in the Left Bank area is the place to be this weekend. You can follow all the World Cup action in the beer garden or on the many screens throughout the pub. If you are planning a summer BBQ or party The Snug Bar has a separate beer garden with its own bar for private functions which always creates a great party atmosphere. There is no charge for the function room and free finger food can be provided. Areas can also be reserved throughout the bar free of charge.

Tonight Friday June 20 Macey South play The Snug. Macey South is a young energetic three-piece made up of brothers Keith and Liam Flynn and Conor Irwin. Their original mix of traditional Irish music and rock ‘n’ roll never fails to get an audience on their feet. The band’s energy is comparable to the Pogues and Horslips whilst drawing influences from a variety of genres.

On Saturday June 21 Beggars Velvet play. This three-piece acoustic act from Galway are all multi-instrumentalists and singers. Born out of the boredom of the present cover band scene, the plan was to create something different, something new, something versatile while still keeping a certain amount of integrity within the set. The set is always evolving and always new and never should be missed.

Then on Sunday June 22 The Crooked Jacks take to the stage at 7pm followed by Macey South at 9pm.

Monday nights are JigJam nights. This exciting young band based around Tullamore are quickly becoming the focus of a lot of attention in the country’s music scene. The Snug Bar is delighted to have JigJam playing every Monday night in June. They are immensely popular with both musicians and music lovers alike. With their style originating from traditional Irish music, they draw inspiration from a unique mixture of folk, modern, and contemporary music with a superb bluegrass twist. A great night is guaranteed.
