The Dean Crowe devotes an evening to Oscar Wilde

The Importance of Being Wilde by Stephen Burns is a compelling play on the life and extraordinary career of Oscar Wilde, one of the most flamboyant and brilliantly original Irishmen of all time.

Author of such classics as The Importance of Being Earnest, An Ideal Husband, and The Picture of Dorian Gray, Wilde went from being a celebrated literary icon to being vilified and imprisoned.

This performance will be preceded by a talk on the Wilde family by Gerard Hanberry

Since publishing his biography More Lives Than One - the Remarkable Wilde Family Through The Generations, Gerard Hanberry has been invited to deliver talks on Oscar and his extraordinary family at festivals and venues throughout Ireland and the UK.

Last summer Mr Hanberry was invited to speak to the Oscar Wilde Society in Magdalen College, Oxford. These talks are delivered in an entertaining manner using photographs on the overhead screen and if possible a question and answer session is included. Anyone with even a passing interest in Oscar Wilde will thoroughly enjoy hearing Mr Hanberry tell the extraordinary story of the Wildes.

The talk starts at 6pm with the play starting at 8pm - so come along for a Wilde evening! Tickets are available from the Dean Crowe box office by calling (090 ) 6492129 or online at www.deancrowetheatre.com
