Talk on the Wilde family by Gerard Hanberry

Since publishing his biography of the Wilde family, More Lives Than One - the Remarkable Wilde Family Through The Generations, Gerard Hanberry has been invited to deliver talks on Oscar and his extraordinary family at various festivals and venues throughout Ireland and occasionally in the UK. Last summer Gerard was invited to speak to the Oscar Wilde Society in Magdalen College, Oxford. These talks are usually delivered in an entertaining manner using photographs on the overhead screen and if possible a question and answer session is included. The book describes the origins of the Wilde family and traces the line down to the present day. Audiences are often surprised at what they learn about the roots of this remarkable family and their many successes and tragedies. Anyone with even a passing interest in Oscar Wilde will thoroughly enjoy hearing Gerard Hanberry tell the extraordinary story of the Wildes. This talk precedes the wonderful play The Importance of Being Wilde in the Dean Crowe Theatre and Arts Centre, Athlone on Saturday May 24. The talk is scheduled for 6pm with the play starting at 8pm so come along for a Wilde evening!
