A new era of motoring was marked in the Midlands last Friday when Audi Athlone held the official launch event for its brand new state-of-the-art showroom. A host of well-known faces from the world of sport and entertainment were on hand to mark the official launch including Audi Ireland brand ambassadors Rob Kearney and Kathryn Thomas and Audi Athlone ambassadors Bressie and IRUPA Young Player of the Year, Robbie Henshaw. Situated on the old Dublin Road, the €4.4 million, 12-car showroom forms part of Audi Ireland’s €80 million investment in its dealer network with further openings planned later in the year. To date Audi Athlone has established 18 jobs at the showroom with a view to adding an additional five positions by the end of the year. As well as room for 12 cars inside, Audi Athlone boasts up to 60 Audi Approved used vehicles outside on display with an additional 100 car park spaces reserved for customer car parking and used models. To complement the showroom, Audi Athlone has invested in an eight-hoist state-of-the-art workshop allowing customers to benefit from the expertise, experience and value they have been accustomed to with Audi. Michael Moore Jnr, dealer principal, Audi Athlone commented, “We are delighted to mark the official opening of this fantastic new showroom here in Athlone. The Audi brand in Ireland continues to go from strength-to-strength and the midlands region is no exception. “As a family, we have a long-standing heritage in this industry having been in the motor business for 42 years. We pride ourselves on offering a first class and personal service to all our customers and we believe our customer care combined with the superb Audi product range really will deliver an unrivalled offering to motorists in the Midlands.” Christian Gussen, managing director, Audi Ireland said; “Our latest showroom in Athlone reaffirms our commitment to providing a best-in-class service to all Audi customers across Ireland. We are approaching the final stages of our dealer network investment and this is another important milestone for us. I would like to wish the Moores every success with this superb new facility and we look forward to working with them for many years to come. “Despite a challenging economic environment the Audi brand has continued to grow in Ireland. In the first quarter of this year we maintained our position as Ireland’s number one premium car marque with an 8.6 per cent increase in registrations compared to the same quarter in 2013. “As we prepare for the 142 registration period, I am delighted to say we have some fantastic product on the way including the A3 Cabriolet and the all-new Audi TT, the first of its kind since 2007. With these exciting new model launches and our continued investment in the Audi dealer network, we are confident that we can continue to grow the business in Ireland in a sustainable way.” For further information visit www.audi.ie
