Singer Imelda May and Ava Leahy (6 ) have officially launched the Down Syndrome Centre’s Buy My Dress campaign, supported by Kellogg’s Special K. Now in its sixth year, Buy My Dress invites women of all ages to dig out once-loved and lightly worn dresses from their wardrobes and donate to the one day, pop-up sales taking place around the country on Sunday May 25, in aid of the Down Syndrome Centre. The Athlone event, which will take place in the Athlone Springs Hotel, is organised by Caoimhe and Aileen Ward and friends. Dresses are flying in but donations are still required; you can drop dresses into the Carraig Donn store in Golden Island Shopping Centre or the Athlone Springs Hotel. On the day there will be a variety of stands all relevant to a great girls’ day out, along with the opportunity to enter a fantastic raffle with lots of great prizes, including top prize - The Imelda May Experience. The first 100 customers will receive a free glass of prosecco, compliments of sponsors Kellogg’s Special K and all shoppers will receive Kellogg’s Special K goodies. Buy My Dress takes place in the Athlone Springs from 11am-5pm on Sunday May 25. Visit www.buymydress.ie for further details or if you wish to volunteer contact Caoimhe Ward on (085 ) 1449486.
