Local company help refurbish youth centre

Local Athlone company AMS showed their support for the local community and their belief in the potential of young people by joining forces with Midlands Regional Youth Service for the first ever ‘Give Day’ recently.

Employees of American Medical Systems Ireland Ltd (AMS ) volunteered in the refurbishment of a youth centre in Athlone and hosted a variety of onsite fundraising activities. All proceeds directly support the work of MRYS programmes, activities, and youth clubs across Westmeath and Offaly.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to the AMS for their fantastic support of MRYS,” said Geraldine Lacey, regional director of MRYS

“MRYS has been serving young people across the Midlands for 40 years and last year we reached over 5,000 with our programmes in Westmeath and Offaly. MRYS depends on the generosity of the community to provide these vital services. We very much look forward to working with businesses like AMS in the future to ensure youth in our community continue to have the opportunities to achieve their potential.”

“American Medical Systems is delighted to take this time to assist MRYS. We’re delighted to lend our support to this important cause,” added Joan Mahon, office manager, AMS.
