Allsop Space have announced that it will offer 224 residential and commercial properties, including five properties from County Westmeath, under the hammer at its next public auction at the RDS on May 2. This is an increase of approximately 20 per cent on the recent February auction. The reserve total is €37m.
“The level of interest in the sale of properties throughout Ireland is a further indication of the emerging confidence in the property sector and an improving economy generally,” said Robert Hoban, director of auctions, Allsop Space.
“It is important to point out that while it is correct that a number of the investment properties for auction are at the request of receivers, an ever-increasing number of people who are not in a distressed property situation are using our auctions model. They simply want to obtain the best possible price in an open, transparent, accountable, and swift manner.”
Westmeath properties that will feature in the May 2 auction include:
· Lot 99 - Mullingar Road, Castlepollard
· Lot 105 - Block A ,Riverview Business Centre, Main Street Kilbeggan
· Lot 130 - Ballycorkery, Ballynacargy, Mullingar
· Lot 178 - Meadowpark, Kilbeggan
· Lot 204 - Lismacaffrey, Mullingar
Mr Hoban revealed that since their auction began three years ago the number of domestic Irish buyers has increased to 94 per cent, an increase of 14 per cent since 2011.
“Going by our last sale, of the 180,000 visits expected to our website over the next three weeks, over 140,000 will originate from the local regions within Ireland. This is a welcome development and a powerful endorsement of the local markets,” he said.
Mr Hoban reiterated the Allsop Space guarantee that they would not sell any repossessed family homes or any property that is subject to a legal dispute.
