Fourteen new jobs are to be created in Athlone, with the news that Mixgreens, the healthy fast food franchise is to open its fifth restaurant on April 15 in the Athlone Towncentre.
The healthy fast food restaurant franchise was launched by Galway chef Kieran Nolan in 2012 and since its inception the business has launched five restaurants in Ireland and won a major business award in 2013.
Mixgreens has tossed together a fresh concept that during the past two years has kicked off national expansion, unveiled a new look, expanded its array of toppings, switched out its beverage programme to launch fresh raw juices that merge well with the zen food quality, and tackled new product development that fits its ‘tossed to order’ service model such as wok salads.
Beyond its crisp new design, for which the Athlone store will be the flagship model, the changes made are more tweaking than groundbreaking, says Mr Nolan, but they’re delivering positive results. The salad bar was reconfigured, too. “In new stores we have a customised case that holds up to 30 salad toppings; this alongside the launch of our new calorie counted menu with hot and cold food such as their gourmet hot pots, curries, pasta, and soups make sure we have a loyal customer base that return time and time again. This very exciting and we are looking forward to watching new restaurants pop up nationwide creating employment opportunities and delivering healthy, fast food to the nation,” said Mr Nolan.
