Home draw for Marist in Leinster quarter-finals

Marist College, Athlone have been given a home draw in the quarter final of the Leinster Schools Senior A Football quarter finals.

Wins over Maynooth PP and Castleknock CC have steered Marist into the last eight of the competition with Wicklow Schools now set to visit the midlands. Brian Stack, Terry Byrne, Sam Omokoru, Robbie Curley, and Conor Gleeson have been key contributors for Marist, who will face another stern test against the Wicklow combination.

Athlone CC were soundly beaten by Wicklow Schools 3-9 to 2-3 so Marist will be completely aware of the threat the Garden County side will pose as the hunt for provincial honours continues.

St Joseph's Rochfortbridge, under the stewardship of Luke Dempsey, enjoyed a splendid recent victory over Ardscoil Athy to book their berth in the last eight. Goals from Niall McCabe, Finbar Coyne, Fergal McGuinness, and Dylan Raleigh ensure Rochfortbridge will be armed with confidence ahead of the February 15th away date with the winners of last night's Pairc Tailteann clash between St Patrick's Navan and Moate Community School.
