Westmeath venue makes top 100 for weddings

A Westmeath venue has been named as one of the top wedding venues in the country. Mount Druid in Castletowngeoghegan has been named in the One Fab Day 100 Best Wedding Venues 2014 guide launched this week.

The team behind wedding website One Fab Day describe Mount Druid as the “original and stunning Westmeath venue”, highlighting “the fun and creative celebrations that Irish weddings have become”.

Mount Druid is an alternative wedding venue located in the village of Castletowngeoghegan. The venue hosts both wedding ceremonies and receptions, with luxury accommodation available on site in yurts, huts, and self-catering cottages.

Commenting on the launch of the guide, Naoise McNally of One Fab Day said, “Westmeath couples are becoming more adventurous and creative when it comes to planning their weddings. The dream wedding is a unique celebration in a private space - a trend reflected by the One Fab Day 100 Best Wedding Venues 2014 guide.

“Irish people are becoming more and more experimental with wedding venue choices and with such a selection of diverse venues available across the country, Ireland truly has it all. Couples are choosing to put more emphasis on decorating a space; barns, theatres, and galleries are now hugely popular as ‘blank canvases’ and provide couples with the perfect opportunity to create a unique backdrop for an unforgettable party.”
