Roscommon Arts Centre has planned a packed programme of music to ring in the early new year with concerts from Johnny Carroll, Johnny McEvoy, The Fureys and Davey Arthur, My Brother Joe - The Story of Joe Dolan, and much more.
First to kick off the spring musical programme is Johnny Carroll, celebrating his anniversary tour in Roscommon on Saturday January 18. Belting out the hits from big band to rock ‘n’ roll with a bit of trad thrown in, Johnny will be joined by ‘Say You Love Me’ singing legend Dessie O’Halloran for what is sure to be a night packed with music, song and stories. Already tickets for The Fureys and Davey Arthur are flying out the door with limited seats available for their concert at the arts centre on Friday February 21.
Following positive feedback from audiences last year My Brother Joe – The Story of Joe Dolan returns to Roscommon Arts Centre on Friday February 7. Featuring his brother Ben, this is the story of Joe Dolan in words and music, right through a career that encompassed energetic and charismatic performances and hit after worldwide hit, this is an unmissable night for any fan of the great man from Mullingar.
Folk music lovers will be delighted to see Johnny McEvoy play for one night only on Friday March 21. This nostalgic evening of song and story features all of Johnny’s many hit songs. With a back catalogue of songs that are at once haunting and evocative, this concert by one of the true legends of Irish music is eagerly awaited by his legions of fans.
