The Carlton Shearwater Hotel, Ballinasloe was honoured with a Failte Ireland Service Excellence Award at a recent awards ceremony in Killarney.
The Service Excellence award, which falls under the Failte Ireland Optimus program, was developed by Failte Ireland to help tourism businesses understand their performance and assist them in making continuous improvement.
It provides hotels with an approach to managing their business, which is benchmarked against worldwide standards in not only the hospitality sector but also quality assurance industries.
Accepting the award, general manager of the Carlton Shearwater, Dermot Birchal, said; “This is a great achievement for a hotel as new as the Carlton Shearwater, which is only in its second year of business.
“Since the beginning of the Optimus program, the hotel has experienced an increase in customer satisfaction levels. This award is credited to our hard-working, enthusiastic, and dedicated management and staff at the hotel.
“We would also like to extend a big thank you to all our customers as it is through their feedback and constructive comments that we can continually improve our service and quality of product. We are here to serve you and we wish all of our customers a very happy Christmas and a prosperous new year.”
