The Moate Christmas lights are to be switched on by none other than Santa Claus himself this Sunday, December 8 at 7.30pm.
Moate Partnership Group held their Christmas lights fundraising social night in Eamon Coughlan’s Lounge on Saturday night to raise funds towards the cost of bulbs and electricity.
Chairman of Moate Partnership Group, Michael O’Brien, said, “I’d like to thank the people of Moate and surrounding areas for their kind generosity in contributing towards the costs of lighting up the town for Christmas. I’d also like to thank Harry Horan and his team for doing a great job of erecting the lights, Christmas tree, and billboard ad this weekend; their hard work and commitment is very much appreciated by the town.”
The lights will be officially switched on this Sunday at 7.30pm. All are welcome.
