Huge interest in job seekers event- Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services

Over 80 job seekers attended Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services recent seminar and open day in finding a job in today’s market.

The event which was held on Monday October 21 in the Sheraton Athlone Hotel examined all areas of the job search. Attendees varied from graduates starting their first job search to those looking to re-enter the work force or seeking to change employment.

During the event as well as attending seminars, attendees got the opportunity to meet one to one with a consultant to discuss any job searching questions they may have had. In particular, the interactive seminar on interview skills proved very beneficial to all. Attendees also had the opportunity to meet with Employment Services to find out more about further training courses if they wanted to up-skill in a particular area.

Sean Gannon, regional manager, Collins McNicholas Midlands Region said “We were delighted with the large number of attendees at today’s event and with the high levels of engagement from all that attended. Attendees raised concern over not getting feedback from previous job applications they had made and this is leading to a lack of confidence in their continuing job search activities. Whilst we acknowledge the tough current job market, a number of easy improvements were identified on the day such as better presentation of CV and cover letters, better preparation for interviews, and timely and appropriate presentation at interviews.”

Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services would like to thank the Sheraton Athlone Hotel and the Athlone Advertiser for partnering them and ensuring they were able to deliver this very beneficial event free of charge for all.
