Tonight, Friday October 11, Richard Collins,owner of three branches of The Zip Yard, is up for an award as part of the Ulster Bank / Sunday Business Post Franchise Awards.
Richard joined the Irish-owned franchise in 2011 when he opened his first store in Newcastle West, County Limerick. From there Richard built his business by opening a second store in Irishtown, Athlone in June of this year before opening his third branch in Ennis last month.
In all Richard’s three Zip Yard stores employ 12 full-time and five part-time staff members.
In recogition of his hard work and business acumen, The Zip Yard franchise encouraged Richard to put his name and three stores forward for the the Irish Franchising Association’s annual awards.
Richard has now been shortlisted, along with four others, for tonight’s Ulster Bank / Sunday Business Post Franchise of the Year awards in the regional section.
“This is a significant recognition of what has been achieved by all involved in our business,” said Richard.
“The Athlone shop is always busy and our seamstresses are highly trained and experienced. We also have great front of house staff and are currently holding interviews for new staff members,” he said.
