New initiative for women to play Gaelic football in Athlone

Ladies! Do you want to get fit? Do you want to have fun and learn some new skills? Would you like to be in with a chance to play in Croke Park next year? And do you want to get all this for free?

Then the Gaelic 4 Mothers and Others project is for you!

Gaelic 4 Mothers and Others will run for six weeks on the grounds of Athlone GAA Club.

This project is a non-competitive, social, and fun form of ladies football for those who want to learn the basics of football while getting fit and having fun.

It is open to all women over 18 who do not currently play any form of competitive football. It is for all ages and abilities. Six sessions commence on Tuesday October 1 from 7-8pm.

First night registration take place at 6.45pm on October 1.
