McGrath in charge of hurling replay

Turin’s James McGrath will for the second year running take charge of the All-Ireland hurling final replay. Last year Kilkenny edged out Galway in the replay while this time around Clare are my fancy to beat Cork.

McGrath made headlines earlier in the year when he red-carded Cork’s Pa Horgan for a dangerous swing in the Munster final. Horgan successfully appealed the sending off but McGrath was also vindicated for making his decision.

Having worked alongside James in Athlone Community College I know first-hand how passionate he is about hurling and refereeing. He is flying the flag for Westmeath and no doubt he will do another great job. I wish him well.
