Are you the one that they want?

Following their production of Oklahoma earlier this year, Athlone Musical Society returns with one of the greatest musicals of all time, Grease.

An information night will be held on Friday September 27 at 8pm in the Dean Crowe Theatre for new members who would like to be part of the 2014 production and to give everybody an idea of what’s involved in being a part of a production. The society will also be showing the DVD of their 1996 production of Grease.

Following this information night, auditions will be held on Monday October 14 from 7.30pm onwards in the Dean Crowe Theatre.

Last performed in 1996 by Athlone Musical Society, it was felt that Grease was the type of show that would attract young and old audiences, schools, and of course a great pull for those who would like to be a cast member of such an electrifying production.

Grease will be directed and choreographed by Mary MacDonagh, who returns for a third year running. She will be assisted by Stefan Jorgenson, who is also returning from last year’s show. The musical director will be Enda O’Connor and chorus mistress will be Heather Shine. The entire returning production team have a great vision for this music and dance extravaganza.

So if you think you’ve got what it takes to be the next T-Bird or Pink Lady, come along and show off your talent.
