Athlone Midland Samaritans are currently looking for volunteers and will hold information sessions in Athlone, Moate, and Ballinasloe in the coming weeks.
Samaritans is a confidential 24-hour service for people who are finding life difficult because of what is happening to them now or what may have happened to them in the past.
Samaritans volunteers are there so that people can talk through the difficult situations they face in their daily lives in a confidential way, while knowing that they will not be judged or told what to do.
Volunteers freely give their time to listen and help people talk though their worries, troubles, and concerns.
Recruitment information sessions are being held in the following venues:
Athlone - Tuesday October 8 at 8pm in the Sheraton Hotel.
Ballinasloe - Wednesday October 9 at 8pm in the Carlton Shearwater Hotel
Moate - Monday October 14 at 8pm in the Grand Hotel
All are welcome to attend and the sessions will answer any questions you might have about what is involved in being a Samaritan volunteer and will cover details of the training that will be provided.
