Caulry and St Malachy’s primed to advance to intermediate decider

It is a crucial weekend for the four clubs left in the intermediate championship with both semi-finals down for decision this weekend. The opening game in the double header in Cusack Park gets underway at 4pm on Saturday when Milltownpass square up to St Malachy’s.

The Castletown Geoghegan outfit have been a bit hit and miss in the group stages but seem to be hitting form at the right time and look likely to become the first team through to the decider.

The second game has the makings of a thriller with Caulry and Ballynacargy locking horns. Caulry were hugely impressive in their win over Tubberclair in their quarter-final and provided they perform they should be able to cope with the considerable threat posed by Bal. It should be tight but Francie Grehan’s men should be looking forward to another intermediate decider come Saturday evening.

Meanwhile Kilbeggan and Ballinagore will battle it out again to see who retains their intermediate status in a game fixed for Rochfortbridge at 4pm.
