St Brigid’s GAA club in South Roscommon is the venue for this year’s marching band finals which will be held on Saturday September 14 starting at 1.30pm.
This is a great opportunity for people to see music played in a very competitive environment.
Marching bands are no longer just bands that walk in lines and only come out on St Patrick’s Day.
Modern day bands compete in national and international competitions and are judged on visual content, artistic creation, movement, and of course musical content. It’s a theatre show on a field!
With Irish bands now competing regularly on the European stage you can be guaranteed the highest quality performances. In the junior class current European table toppers The Ravens from Athlone will be defending their national title and are sure to draw a large local support.
Anyone with an interest in the arts should come along for the day and bring their children. Admission is €5 for adults and children are free.
