World yoga asana champion comes to Bikram Athlone

Bikram yogis across the Midlands will have a unique chance to meet and practise along with international female yoga asana champion ChauKei Ngai when she comes to Bikram Athlone on Sunday September 22.

Students of yoga are welcome to join in the Sunday class and workshop where they will be able to see the full extent a life of yoga can offer.

Whether you’re new to Bikram yoga or have been practising for years, there is something to be gained from meeting and watching ChauKei.

The workshop starts at 11am with a yoga class. There will then be a break before the workshop begins at 1pm. ChauKei will go through a comprehensive breakdown of postures in four categories: breathing, back bending, forward bending, and spine twisting.

There will then be a demonstration and brief discussion about the Yoga Asana Championships from 3.25-4pm.

Those attending the event are advised to bring two sets of yoga clothes; light snacks such as fruit, juices, and nuts; and a notepad and pen to take notes during the workshop.

After the 11am Bikram class the heat will be retained as ChauKei goes through different poses.

This the first time such an international yoga champion has visited the Midlands.

Attendees should have a few Bikram yoga classes under their belt but other than that all levels of experience are welcome - as everyone can benefit from the workshop.
