On Saturday night, August 31, Marie Duffy, Edel Horan, and Tommy and Annette Daly will hold an 80s fancy dress night in aid of CanTeen Ireland in P Egan’s pub in Moate. Entry is free and it starts at 9pm.
This promises to be a night of pure entertainment. A BBQ will be served on the night with meat very kindly donated from Dunbia in Kilbeggan. There will be prizes for the best dressed as well as a monster raffle with prizes galore! Also on the night an auction will be held with a signed golf shirt from Shane Lowry and as well as a signed Man United jersey! All proceeds go to CanTeen Ireland.
CanTeen Ireland is a nationwide support group for young people between the ages of 12 and 25 years who have or have had cancer. They currently have over 250 members throughout Ireland. The charity hold weekends away, day support meetings, offer peer support, produce a biannual newsletter as well as age appropriate information about cancer. CanTeen was founded in 1990 by a dedicated group of volunteers and has gone from strength to strength over the years.
