Racing takes place in Roscommon on Tuesday August 6 with most of Ireland’s top national hunt jockeys in action. The day’s racing is once again well supported by local sponsors.
For the past number of years this meeting has been the biggest of the year at the Lenabane track.
The first race gets underway at 5.20pm. The first three-year-old hurdle of the year takes place while Roscommon GAA will be hosting an evening at the races - tickets for which can be purchased from any of the GAA clubs in the county.
Many of Ireland’s leading national hunt jockeys will be in attendance and it is worth pointing out that horses that have ran well in Galway are worth following should they attend the Roscommon meeting.
Racecourse manager, Michael Finneran, acknowledges that weather always plays a big part at race meetings. “However, with further new development this year at the track, exciting racing, and a fantastic atmosphere Roscommon races should not be missed next Tuesday,” he added.
Attractive discounts are available on group bookings.
