This year’s August bank holiday weekend will see Westmeath’s most famous bachelor honoured when Mullingar plays host to the Joe Dolan International Westmeath Bachelor Festival.
Four days of music, magicians, fashion, and banter are planned for Joe’s home town with Mullingar Arts Centre playing centre stage in the weekend.
Events will be alternating between outside and indoor stages to allow for double the fun.
The fun kicks off next Friday August 2 at 6.30pm when new band Sioux, fronted by former Voice of Ireland contestant Graham Dowling, take to the outside stage. At 7.15pm expect plenty of blues, jazz, and pop from Good Man Sheila before the official opening of the Joe Dolan International Westmeath Bachelor Festival takes place at 8.30pm.
Friday night will come to a close with a showcase from Cronin on the outside stages and their new EP In Loneliness Lives Love at 9pm before Conor Quin and White Chalk take to the inside stage at 10pm.
Joe Daly’s fantastic magic and illusion show Fantasmagorical kicks off Saturday’s line-up at 2pm followed by music from Comhaltas Ceoltoirí Éireann.
The evening will be topped by the much-anticipated Joe Dolan Reunion Show at 8pm inside the arts centre. Tickets are priced at €25.
Fussy Galore Vintage Clothing will be bringing you a beautiful array of vintage styles, antiques, and craft items to Mullingar Arts Centre with their vintage fair which from 12-5pm on Sunday August 4.
A Hot August Night starring the Midland Concert Orchestra and the Midland Gospel Choir will provide the closing hymn for the day’s events and tickets are priced at €10.
