New AWD Mazda CX-5 now available

Mazda recently enhanced its CX-5 model line-up, its award-winning compact SUV. And the all-wheel drive (AWD ) version also joins the range in CX-5 ‘Sport’ trim, with a price tag of €35,595. It comes with very generous levels of standard specification featuring 17” alloy wheels, climate control, cruise control, Bluetooth, parking sensors, and a 5.8” touch screen.

The AWD system distributes up to 50 per cent of the engine torque to the rear wheels when you need it most on some poor road conditions. The AWD option enhances an already impressive safety package. Achieving the maximum five-star Euro NCAP safety award, the all-new CX-5 is the first non-premium SUV in its class to offer Smart City Brake Support (SCBS ) that helps prevent low speed frontal collisions, as standard.

The flagship Sport SE model is now available with a six-speed automatic gearbox matched to the 2.2-litre diesel engine. With faster, more responsive shifts, Mazda’s new transmission has been widely praised as one of the smoothest automatic boxes in the market. For €40,595, Mazda’s flagship SUV comes with a huge list of standard equipment including: premium Bose nine-speaker audio system, leather seats, rear reversing camera, and 19” alloys.

Mazda tells us that for the new July registration plate, buying a new Mazda has never been so affordable, in particular with excellent finance packages on the CX-5. Mazda says that it's providing a finance deposit contribution of €750 with monthly payments from only €267.

“There is exceptional value on offer for Mazda customers for the 132 plate in July, especially for those in the market for a family car,” explains Tony Howarth, managing director, Mazda Motor Ireland.

He adds, “Not only can you buy a Mazda CX-5 with low monthly repayments, Mazda is providing a €750 deposit contribution. And the CX-5 has the lowest running costs in the segment thanks to the super efficiency of the Mazda’s new SkyActiv Technology engines.”

Amid a string of awards this year for the Mazda CX-5, it was recently crowned ‘Best Crossover’ in last year’s Auto Express New Car Awards, achieved 89.63 per cent in the Auto Express Driver Power Survey, the largest and most comprehensive poll of car owners in the UK, scoring in the top 50 per cent in all categories. The Mazda CX-5 achieved its highest rankings for in-car technology, ease of driving and ride quality categories.
