Belvedere House Gardens & Park Mullingar will play host to a magical production of Twelfth Night on Friday August 2 at 7.30pm.
Twelfth Night, which was written by William Shakespeare will be directed by Rebecca Gadsby.
This brand new production of Shakespeare’s comic tale of shipwrecks, sea storms, and mistaken identity is sure to delight audiences.
Unforgettably larger than life characters, a whole host of playful pranks, and the sound of enchanting music come together to create the perfect evening of romance and laughter. Join family and friends for this magical love story performed under a beautiful starry sky at some of the most beautiful gardens in the UK and Ireland.
“Twelfth Night is full of complexities that sometimes border on the sublime – characters falling in love at the drop of a hat and twins of different sexes who look so much alike that it is difficult to tell them apart. But that is what sometimes theatre – or storytelling – is all about: the suspension of disbelief.
“Of course, comedy and romance lend themselves perfectly to open-air theatre – a carefree summer’s evening in beautiful surroundings and being entertained by the world’s most popular playwright. I hope everyone who sees the play enjoys the experience,” explained Rebecca Gadsby, director.
Tickets are priced at €15 for adults, €10 for seniors or children, and a family pass is €45.
There’s a 20 per cent discount for season ticket holders. Catering will be available on the evening from Catoca Fine Foods.
Belvedere grounds will be open one hour before the show for picnics. Please bring your own picnic rugs or low-back seating.
