Whelehans Pharmacy have launched their ‘Get your toes out’ campaign in conjunction with chiropodist James Pedley, who is offering free foot checks for a limited time. If you have a foot problem you have been meaning to get looked at, this is your chance. Their chiropodist will advise on the best course of action. Diabetics tend to have more foot problems than most, so it is important to monitor feet regularly.
With summer here, many of us like to give our feet some air by wearing sandals or flip-flops. Unfortunately, many of us are too embarrassed to show off our feet on public due to unsightly toenails. Many suffer from a common and highly contagious fungal toenail infection that cases the toenail to turn yellow, brown, or other colours or develop white marks. It may become brittle or crumbly, and parts of the nail or even the whole nail may fall off. Luckily, fungal nail infections are easily treated.
Feet are one of our most important organs. Feet allow us to balance our body effectively in walking, running, working, dancing, and many other activities. They are vulnerable to repetitive mechanical stress and skin irritations. Foot problems get more common as we get older, and medical problems such as diabetes, arthritis, and poor circulation can cause foot problems. A chiropodist assesses, diagnoses, and treats diseases and abnormalities of the feet and lower limbs, and can significantly improve a person’s quality of life by alleviating painful symptoms and promoting foot health.
Whelehans is holding the first of their free foot check clinics on Thursday July 11 from 9am-2pm with chiropodist James Pedley. To book a free appointment call Whelehans.
