Roscommon’s minor footballers are just 60 minutes away from completing a three-in-a-row of Connacht titles thanks to a four-point win over Sligo last Sunday. Fergal O’Donnell’s side were in control throughout against a Sligo side that found scores hard to come by.
Sligo’s cause was not helped with the dismissal of corner forward Stephen Henry on a second yellow card shortly before half-time. The young Rossies held a 0-5 to 0-2 interval lead. Roscommon continued to exert their authority after the break to book their ticket for the final. Full forward Diarmuid McGann finished with a personal tally of 0-7 in an impressive display.
All attention now turns to the Connacht final against either Galway or Mayo on Sunday July 21.
