Roscommon minors on track to book place in provincial decider

Roscommon’s minor footballers are in action this weekend against Sligo in the Connacht semi-final in a game fixed for Carrick on Shannon, Sunday 1.30pm. Fergal O’Donnell’s side are bidding for a hat-trick of Connacht titles and I don’t expect them to be stopped this weekend, though Galway will be fancied to lift the silverware this year.

An under-strength Roscommon had five points to spare when they took on Sligo earlier in the year in the Connacht minor league but that will have little bearing on Sunday’s game. Provided they perform, O’Donnell’s side should be planning for a provincial decider come Sunday evening.
