County and City Enterprise Boards are hosting a national workshop for people over 50 who are thinking of starting their own business, or in the early stages of a start-up. The workshop will be held in the Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone on July 1 and 2.
Entitled Change, Challenge and Opportunity, this two day residential workshop is organised by the network of County and City Enterprise Boards (CEBs ) and will focus on giving participants an insight into what is needed to research, start, and develop a business.
Organisers are hoping to attract aspiring entrepreneurs such as Aidan McCormack of McCormack Training and Consultancy and Carol Gilbert of Madeinwestcork, who both set up businesses after passing the 50 mark.
Aidan McCormack of McCormack Training and Consultancy will be speaking at the event, he set up his own business after passing 50. Aidan’s background is primarily in the dental and healthcare sector, where he worked in senior management positions for most of his career.
Another speaker who got into business after 50 is Carol Gilbert of Madeinwestcork. Carol established Madeinwestcork in June 2012.
Keynote speakers aside from McCormack include Justine Negri, founder of Sole Careers and Denis Coen, Elite Performance Mind Coach, as well as other successful entrepreneurs aged 50 and over, sharing their own experiences and advice.
