The search for specs-wearing beauties is getting underway this weekend as Specsavers Athlone launch their campaign to discover Athlone’s best specs wearers for this year’s Irish Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition 2013. A specs scouting evening will be held at the Prince Bar, Church Street, Athlone at 9pm this Saturday May 18.
Specsavers staff will be on the lookout in the Prince Bar for guys and girls with specs appeal who wear their glasses with style and confidence. Specsavers Athlone hope to uncover plenty of talent with the potential to be crowned this year’s Specsavers Irish Spectacle Wearer of the year.
There are four age categories: 16-24, 25-39, 40-59, and 60 plus, as well as a Facebook favourite voted for by the public. A winner from each category will win a VIP makeover and will attend the final in Ireland, where the overall Irish Spectacle Wearer of the Year will be announced.
Hugh Morris, store director at Specsavers in Athlone says: “We see so many people in our stores who look absolutely amazing in their glasses. The Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition gives us the opportunity to prove that glasses are fabulous at any age by celebrating the specs wearers right on our doorstep who wear them with pride and plenty of style.
“We are really looking forward to begin our campaign to launch our search for the best specs wearers in Athlone with our model scouting evening in the Prince Bar this weekend. So many people in Athlone look absolutely stunning in their glasses and it would be fantastic to have someone to represent Athlone in the Irish final.”
Specsavers Athlone will be continuing their search for specs-wearing guys and girls all summer so if you think you have the potential to be Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2013 drop into Specsavers Athlone to fill out an entry form. The competition is open to those who not only wear glasses as an optical necessity, but also as a fashion accessory.
